2 CHAINZ WINS, PERFORMS AT BET HIP-HOP AWARDS
Date:
Reservoir songwriter 2 Chainz took home three BET Hip-Hop Awards at this year’s ceremony, which aired last night. The charismatic Atlanta rapper claimed the prizes for “Sweet 16,” or Best Featured Verse, for his part in Kanye West’s “Mercy” with Big Sean and Pusha T; the “People’s Champ” award, presented by Verizon, for his debut Based On A T.R.U. Story single, “No Lie” Featuring Drake; and, not surprisingly given his whirlwind takeover of music industry’s consciousness over the past twelve months, the award for Rookie of the Year.
2 Chainz also took to the stage to perform two songs from Based On A T.R.U. Story, second single “Birthday Song” and “I’m Different,” produced by DJ Mustard (the producer of rapper Tyga’s infectious single, “Rack City”).
