Biography

American rock band, Bobaflex, were formed in West Virginia by brothers Shawn “Beaver” McCoy and Minister Marvin McCoy, drummer Ronnie Castro, and co-lead singers Lutz and Drebbit. They released their own self-titled debut album in 1999. After meeting Shifty Shellshock, the lead singer of Crazy Town, Bobaflex was able to get a production deal and started discussing a record contract with Columbia Records. The Columbia deal did not go through due to musical differences. As Lutz and Drebbit left, the band members switched instruments and new members were added—Marvin and Shawn McCoy taking over vocals, Jerod Mankin as bassist, and Michael Steele as guitarist. They newly formed band made an EP, Primitive Epic, attracting Eclipse Records who signed Bobaflex.
