Brian Jonestown Massacre is known for introducing Western rock & roll to the Eastern culture. Their name comes from a combination of The Rolling Stones’ guitarist and founder, Brian Jones, and the mass cult suicide in Jonestown, Guyana. They originally formed in San Francisco, California in 1990. Many members passed through but singer and guitarist Anton Newcombe, bassist Matt Hollywood, guitarist Dean Taylor, organist Mara Regal, accordionist Dawn Thomas, drummer Brian Glaze, and “Spokesman for the Revolution” Joel Gion have always remained the same.
